Mom Goes Green

A Mom's Journey To Green Living

(This giveaway is now closed for entries.  See “comments” for winner…)

As summer seems to be dwindling away, it’s time to put vacations and free time into the memory books.  Sad as it may be, it’s time to get back to business and and start thinking schooltime for the kids.  (Boo, hiss… this means Mom Goes Green will need to get back to plenty of “homework assistance” too!)

One thing I don’t need to brush-up on, however, is how to send our daughter to school and keep her as waste-free as possible.  I’ve talked about all the best ways to keep 67 pounds of trash out of landfills when I send her off with lunch… ideas like a lunchbox, reusable bottles, thermoses and silverware, cloth napkins and plenty of reusable containers.

She is already equipped and ready to go with her “Waste-Free Lunch Kit” from Kids Konserve.  It includes a recycled cotton lunch bag, a stainless steel bottle, two stainless steel food containers, a food cozy (for wrapping foods) and a cloth napkin!

… and it just so happens, I have one to share! Are you interested?  To enter this contest, just leave a comment and tell me who you’d love to win this kit for… (maybe even yourself)! You can also send a Twitter message that includes a reply to @momgoesgreen and a link to this blog or write about this giveaway and link back.

A random winner will be selected one week from today’s post (US residents only, please… sorry!… and as a side note, the kit is exactly like the one pictured in the photo, so it does include lots of pink butterflies!).

So don’t sweat the “litter” stuff, just enter to win! Good luck!

  2. lesley visconti Said,

This would be for my curly head cutie daughter Tori. Would love to start her school year lunches out the right way. Thanks always for your helpful hints Doreeen. Great Job!! Lesley

  3. Ashley Reges Said,

Even though from the sounds of it, this is a more girly gift but my boyfriend is a fireman and I often make his lunches so he can save money rather than buying a greasy cheeseburger & I am always trying to find ways to make his life more “green” so if he will use a flip-flop cooler with the guys to play golf, I am sure he wouldn’t mind this at all.

  4. Lisette Said,

I’d love to win it for myself! But I might share some of the lovely goodies with my sister, she’d love them too. :)

Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  5. Marisa Said,

My son Ammon is going in to 2nd grade. We do the best we can (I make him bring home his baggies to reuse,) but It would be GREAT to have this for his lunches.

  7. Erin Said,

I’ve been wanting one of these set ups for work for a while. It’s on my list of things to buy, but with a baby on the way, it keeps losing priority. I want to quit plastic baggies and papertowels. Another thing on the list :)

  8. Gus Snarp Said,

I would love to have one just so I can put my yogurt in the containers and then only buy quart sized yogurt at the store to reduce the packaging impact. since I would only need one container, I could use the second for my son’s snacks and when he is old enough he can take the whole thing to school.

  9. Andrea Said,

I’d love to win this for my son, Sam. What a cute little waste-free kit!

  10. trinh Said,

I would love to win one for myself and if all goes well get one for my husband. I have been working on getting him to reduce his waste and bring reusable/recyclable items to pack his lunch and snacks. This kit looks cool and I know it would encourage him to waste less if he could see how easy it is to use.
