You mentioned baking soda as a body scrub, but is also good to use as a facial exfoliant. I wouldn't recommend using it everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week for glowing skin :)

Will have to find the vnegar posting. Western science has us believing that an upset tummy needs anti acid. Do you know what it does? It shuts off your natural stomache acids or depleats it. Then your body reacts by producing a large quantity of acid to overcome the attack. Stomache acid in quantity is the cure. Its like those parts of the country like NJ where you have to go right to go left. A table spoon or so of vinegar is the more direct answer. It does taste bad, but so does apsirin if you leave it on your tongue too long. Dilute it in water and or add a sweetner.

I started making my own toothpaste a few months ago with baking soda as the base. It works fine. No one is complaining about my breath. You are supposed to add salt as an abrasive, but the baking soda is salty enough for me so I haven't. I rinse with peroxide and voila. It's all great--practically free and best of all, no tubes to dispose of!

Baking Soda IS amazing stuff. I've often thought if I were on a show such as "Survivor," baking soda would be the one item I would take!
