shari – I really need to start reading more… besides children’s books! Thanks for the recommendation. And Seventh Generation really does a great job too… my husband just objects to the smell of them … the price we pay to go fragrance-free!

Kimberly – Target DOES carry a lot of great products, but I agree on the big-box stores issue. I would rather support smaller, local shops. And I will not, under any circumstance, support Wal-Mart either! — Hope you found some coupons that “help” too!

Hiya Doreen! I have found that since the demand for organic products is rising, the price is coming down somewhat. I couldn’t believe on my trip to the Target superstore today how many of the organic, whole foods type products they are now carrying. I usually purchase these items at Earth Fare, as I try to not buy too much from “big box stores”, but as Target is now carrying the same brands for a lot less, why not?

It’s funny that you would mention the freezer section which makes me think of my microwave. I read a really wonderful book, The Detox Solution: The Missing Link to Radiant Health, Abundant Energy, Ideal Weight, and Peace of Mind a couple years back, got rid of my microwave and really do skip the frozen section. Granted my freezer at home is full, but I know what is in each item and where it came from.

And on Seventh Generation, that is a great product. I recently tried a different “green” laundry soap from Safeway, was supposed to smell like lavender but I thought is was more musty smelling. Now I’m back to Seventh Generation

shari – couldn’t agree more. I am willing pay more for the “good” foods as opposed to the alternative… but it’s nice to have an opportunity to save on those choices too. You know they say the most nutritious way to shop is shopping the perimeter of the store… the fresh, unprocessed foods… when you see the freezer section and all of those ‘ready made’ meals, move on!

OneGreenMommy – I have used, and still use, many Seventh Generation products and I often get in-store coupons printed with my receipts too!

Doreen – Great to know about this site! It’s not for organic food, but for cleaning products & diapers, Seventh Generation offers coupons on their website, you just need to join the Seventh Generation Nation. SO worth it!

Thanks for the coupon site, I will be checking that out. At one time I really complained about the price of organic or all natural products until I thought of it another way.
